Coach Mayhew brings over two decades of football experience as both a player and coach, with a strong focus on the offensive line, tight ends, and the run game. This is his third season coaching with Head Coach Travis Dixon, having previously worked alongside him at Eastmark High School and Hamilton. Before that, he coached Varsity offensive line at ALA Queen Creek and Gilbert High School. His coaching career began in 2005 as a volunteer at Bellflower High School in California.

As a player, Mayhew received a full scholarship as a middle linebacker to the University of Utah before transferring to Mt. San Antonio Junior College, where he transitioned to the offensive line. He went on to finish his playing career at San Diego State University. His coaching and playing style have been shaped by mentors like the late Bill Fisk and inspired by players such as Christian Okoye and Junior Seau.
